F-1 visa readiness
An honest F-1 checklist before you apply
No one can promise an F-1 result. What we can do is make sure your file is consistent and that you can explain it clearly.
Proof of funds and source of funds
Your I-20 lists the estimated cost of your first year. You need to show funds that cover it, and be able to explain clearly where the money comes from: income, savings, loan or property. We check that every figure matches across your documents.
Ties to Nepal
An F-1 is a student category, not a migration route. Be ready to explain your family, property or career plans in Nepal and what you will do after graduating, honestly and in your own words.
Study plan clarity
Why this course, why this university, and how it connects to your +2 or bachelor background. A clear, genuine plan matters more than memorised answers.
Interview preparation
The interview is short. We prepare you on your own file, so your answers match your documents, plus practice with our free AI mock visa interview.

Costs
What studying in the USA really costs
Tuition vs living cost
Tuition is what the university charges. Living cost covers housing, food, insurance, books and transport, and depends heavily on the city. Across our list, the middle living-cost figure is about $14,500 a year (approx. NPR 22.1 lakh).
Public vs private
In our data, the middle estimated bachelor tuition is about $21,000 a year at public universities and $41,000 at private ones. Some private universities offer discounts that close part of this gap.
Why community college lowers the total
The first 2 years cost less (middle estimate about $10,000 a year in our list), and you still graduate with the university's degree after transferring.
Example only: 4-year bachelor tuition, using middle figures from our data

Do US universities accept IELTS or Duolingo?

How does the F-1 visa interview work?
